Description:The Solution Architect’s role is to translate business problems, opportunities and vision into software-based solutions. The Solutions Architect position requires very hands on involvement in the visualization, conceptualization and design of software solutions. It also requires very close coordination with Technical Leads, Project Managers and Business Analysts in understanding, shaping, refining and finalizing complex application design.

Solution Architects evaluate and decide on the technological platform necessary for the development of a product, define the design of the product and play a major role in the development of the project plan.
Duties:•Architect and design complex software systems based on business needs
•Translate the Business and Requirements Analysis output into technical features and functionalities
•Ensure the scalability, reliability, security and maintainability of software design
•Select appropriate tools, technologies and platforms
•Ensure that proposed and existing architectures are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
•Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to technology operations department, other Application Architects, and software development teams.
•Confer with end-users, clients, or senior management to define business requirements for complex systems and provide feedback to infrastructure department.
•Model business and systems processes based on findings through use case scenarios, workflow diagrams, and data models.
•Where applicable, design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated software and systems.
•Document the company’s existing Solution Architecture and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.
•Review new and existing systems design projects and procurement or outsourcing plans for compliance with standards and architectural plans.
•Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a policy for standardizing.
•Provide guidance to junior members of the team.
Qualifications:•At least Undergraduate degree in Computer Sciences (Post Graduate degree holders will be given preference)
•7 years work experience (including one year as a Solution Architect)
•A very thorough knowledge of .NET framework and architecture (using C#), strong familiarity with Visual Studio 2005
•Good working knowledge of .NET framework 3 and above (including experience in WCF)
•Excellent RDBMS skills and extensive experience of SQL Server 2000/2005
•Hands on experience of using diagramming and designing tools (Rational, ERWin etc)
•Very thorough Design Patterns concept and proof of use in previous projects
•Extensive experience in developing strategic Software Application Architecture plans
•Strong understanding of current industry software design practices
•Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards
•Hands-on experience with application development tools
•Strong knowledge of software evaluation principles and practices.
•Project planning and management experience
•Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
•Good written and oral communication skills
•Excellent architecture and technical support documentation skills.
•Strong interpersonal and consultative skills
•Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required
•Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
•Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
•Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
